Horgen Triumphs Over Carouge in Thrilling Water Polo Match

In a thrilling water polo match held at Kreuzlingen HB / Egelsee, SC Horgen emerged victorious with a narrow 14-13 win over Carouge Natation in the 2023-2024 National League A.

The third quarter saw both teams trade blows. Julian-Eloy Osinski extended SC Horgen’s lead to 8-5, but Romain Blary responded with two quick goals for Carouge, reducing the deficit to 8-7. However, Julian-Eloy Osinski and Djordje Manojlovic found the back of the net again for SC Horgen, giving them a 10-8 lead heading into the final quarter.

In the last quarter, Hal Goulter and Oskar Kieloch extended SC Horgen’s lead to 12-9. However, Carouge fought back with goals from Emrick Ardisson and Romain Blary, bringing the scores level at 11-11. SC Horgen’s Oskar Kieloch and Hal Goulter found the back of the net to give their team a 14-11 lead. Jonathan Melet and Hugo Roscio converted penalty shots for Carouge, but time ran out for a potential equalizer, and SC Horgen held on for a 14-13 win.

SC Horgen’s performance in penalty situations and extra man situations proved crucial. They converted 60% of their penalty shots and 71.43% of their extra man situations. Carouge, on the other hand, had a perfect record of 100% in penalty shots but struggled in extra man situations, converting only 22.22% of their opportunities.
